The brothers decided when they were setting up Phil’s Vision they wanted to inspire and help others, so they decided to create ‘Phil’s wish’ and dedicate it to a very special person. Here they talk about what ‘Phil’s wish’ means to them and what they hope the legacy will be.
In their words..
Like most families our lives have been touched by cancer, especially breast cancer. In 1985 our mother died, she had originally been diagnosed with breast cancer back in 1981, after a mastectomy the cancer returned more aggressively and there was no more that could be done. She was an amazing woman who taught us so much about life albeit unknowingly, if she had had a mantra it would have been “Never give up, never give in” because she bravely took whatever life threw her way.
Once we started to create Phil’s Visions we both knew it would be something that our mother, Barbara, would be proud of, she would have been so proud of us working together, like most brothers when we were younger we fought and didn’t always get on!
We wanted her memory to live on and inspire others to “Never give up, never give in” so Phil’s Wish was created. We are looking to work closely with charities that help and support women affected by breast cancer.
If you work for a charity or know of a charity that needs help please let us know, we hope to work with charities both in the USA and UK.
Phil has created a print called Awareness especially for this cause and for every print sold we will donate $10 to our chosen charity. The print symbolises calmness, awareness and most importantly hope at a time when all of that may seem lost. The print also celebrates the beauty and femininity of a woman which she may no longer feel. We hope that ‘Awareness’ will remind women everywhere just how much they are loved.
We dedicate Phil’s Wish not just to our mother but to all mothers who have been affected and are affected by breast cancer.
